Brotherly Kindness & A Little Creativity

The three year old LOVES his baby brother.  He's always very helpful.  So he wanted to help give him a bottle.  I don't give the baby bottles very often - just as a supplement, and this was while his sister was in charge, and his Dad and I were out on a date.
He couldn't be too far from his own cup of milk though.

 Such a good helper ;)
Today I made waffles for the daycare lunch.  Then it occurred to me that I could make an imitation cinnamon roll for myself.  Surprisingly, Bisquick is dairy and egg free before you add anything to it.  I just add milk to make pancakes, and figured I'd try the same thing for waffles.  I definitely like the waffles better made the real way, but until I'm done nursing, I'm stuck without dairy, eggs, and nuts, so I just added water to the Bisquick mix and hoped for the best.  I added cinnamon to the batter too, then made the waffle.  When I was looking for frosting for the eight year old's birthday cake, I found some that was dairy free, and bought it for myself along with some graham crackers, so I could have some dessert too (it's the biggest thing I miss on this special diet.  Anyway, back to the waffle.  I put frosting on top and sprinkled more cinnamon on it.  It was pretty yummy.  The waffle could have been a little more done, but other than that, it was a good substitute.  Probably not such a great thing that it's all I had for lunch, but some days that's just how it goes.
I added a little artwork to my sewing area in the bedroom.
Here's a close-up.  I found the saying on Pinterest, and printed it on some scrapbook paper, then trimmed it to fit a dollar store frame.  I think it's pretty cute for a buck, and a good simple project to finish.
I'm almost done with the church nursery.  The only thing left to do is to paint the verse on the wall and put the furniture back in.  We have a very old overhead projector at the church, and I figured I could project the verse up there and outline it in pencil, then paint it.  But I couldn't find any plastic transparency sheets at the church to copy the verse onto.  So I stuck a print out inside a gallon bag and started tracing with a permanent marker.  I was starting to worry that I wasn't staying quite true enough to the lines, and that once it's blown up bigger it would probably show.  Then it occurred to me that we have a dinky little office supply store in town.
So in less than a minute and for 75 cents, I had a transparent copy made.  Now I just need to get over to the church and project it up on the wall.  Then I can do the big reveal for you.  Maybe I'll try to get to that tomorrow...  let's hope.  This project has taken way longer than it should have already!
