Sleeper Shirts

So I finally got around to making my 6 year old some sleeper shirts to match the pants I made awhile back. I bought the shirts at the Dollar Tree, then cut out around the designs on the fabric I used for the pants and stitched around them, tucking the edges in as I went. The fish seemed pretty small to do individually, so I just cut a block of fabric and sewed it onto the shirt. The puppies were a little more fun and playful but I don't think they will look as good in the long term. Either way, he's pretty happy to have the sets.

Okay, so he doesn't look all that happy, but this is his "casual and cool" pose. Ugh. Are we at that age already?? :)

News Flash ... or, a place for one

My latest weekend project - a bulletin board and coat hanging center for our front entry. Since I started my daycare, I wanted a place to neatly hang all the coats, diaper bags, hats, etc, and a place to post messages and notices. I made this with sound board/insulation board, a 1x4, coat hooks, and trim boards.

Here's what the sound board looks like. Basically it's just compressed cardboard like material, which we marked with a chalk line and then cut. I had made the coat hanger board a couple weeks ago - just painted a scrap piece of 1x4 and added the hooks.

I covered the soundboard with a fun cowboy fabric (cattle brands) which was attached to the board with a regular stapler. I wrapped the fabric tightly around the board and stapled into the back of the board.

My wonderful husband cut and sanded the trim boards for me and then I painted them. The end result is in the first picture - a nice covered bulletin board and place to hang coats and diaper bags. Easy as pie and much cheaper than a real bulletin board. :) This one measures 3 foot tall and 6 feet wide.

Nothing Against Bunnies & Chicks, but ...

How can I get excited about bunnies and chicks, when I've been given so much more than chocolate and jelly beans???

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Isaiah 53:5 "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. "

Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. "

Romans 10:9-10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, believethou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Titus 3:5 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us..."

THANK YOU LORD!

Have a Blessed Easter.
