So I Might Have Gotten a Little Carried Away

So while I was in Colorado, I had to check out the quilt stores. You know, because there are just SO MANY of them ... and I did have a legitimate list of things I needed to pick up.

The biggest thing I needed was some fabric to use to complete my Birdie Stitches quilt. There are only two more blocks before we will have the whole thing, and I didn't know what I wanted to use for the borders around each block, but I knew I wanted it to be colorful.

This is what I ended up with. I really love these colors with the stitching. The rolled one was a bolt end which I got on discount. It's more of a lime green than it looks in the picture. I found this fabric a The Sewing Circle in Fort Collins. This is a great shop I hadn't ever been to before. They have a lot of the more trendy fabrics, and good prices.

I had to pick up a little of this while I was there too :)

At Sweetheart Quilt Shop in Loveland, I found this cute quilt label panel.


And this was a fat quarter that I just really liked. No plans for it right now.

And then there was JoAnn's. Oh dear. They had their Christmas fabrics out - and I wanted to buy some of all of it. I loved this retro print and bought enough to make pillows for the couch. It reminded me of the feeling of Christmas when I was a kid. So many tv specials had that type of art or feel to it. Gotta love nostalgia.

I thought the fabric with the strings of lights coordinated well for that project.

So I did use some self control and only bought prints that went together. I'm thinking maybe a table runner or tree skirt with this fabric. Haven't really decided yet.

And this was such a reasonable price and I loved the print. I'm sure I'll think of something to do with it.

This is going to be another car seat cover that I'm planning on making to sell. Haven't decided whether to do an etsy shop or just sell on ebay. I've sold a lot in the past on ebay - especially 5-7 years ago, but not much since then. So I'll have to figure that out.

This is another set of fabrics I picked out to do the car seat covers. We'll see how it goes.

While I was at it, I picked up a new foot for my machine, which is open and allows me a better view of the lines on paper piecing patterns. That was a real problem with my other foot. I thought I had an open foot before but it isn't with my machine so I guess I didn't. Anyway it was under $5 so it's all good. Now maybe I can get back to work on the Farmer's Wife blocks. Maybe. I don't know why I put those off so much. Must be that they are requiring more brain power than I have to spare at the moment. Actually, I think it's just that they are time consuming, and I'm a little short on time these days.

So what do you think? Too much fabric? LOL. Much more than I intended to buy, that's for sure!
