Shed shelves

Okay, so I know I told you in the last post that I just relaxed most of the time.  But I did get a couple of other things done for Mom.  She has a very small shed "closet" at the end of her patio.  It is really high - maybe 10+ feet tall, but it had no shelving in it, so there was a lot of wasted space.

She also had a bunch of long 1x2's that the builders had left behind.  So I cut them and attached them to the wall, then we picked up some boards at the hardware store and made shelves.

I put five shelves on each side, so a total of 10 shelves.  I meant to get a picture of it with the boxes back inside it, but didn't think to.  We spaced the shelves out so that some clear plastic Rubbermaid tubs that she already has will fit perfectly.  We left a taller section at the bottom for larger boxes, and there is quite a bit of space for taller stuff on top too (like maybe her little Christmas tree).  I considered attaching the shelves to the braces, but she wanted to be able to remove a shelf is she had something tall to store, so we just let them float.  I think it came out really well, and she will have a much easier time getting to the things she needs now.

After finishing the shelf project, I loaded the kids up in the stroller (including my little niece) and headed over to the playground area.

It was crazy hot - around 100 degrees - but the shade is good there.

The eight year old bought a boomerang, and he was testing it out.  It actually flies really well.

I guess his little cousin thought she could figure it out too :)  It doesn't look too hard ;)

Can you see how hot it was?  The three year old looks pretty melty here.  We didn't stay out very long.
