The Past Few Days

The past few days have gone by fast for some reason.  Not sure why, but it just seems like we've had a lot going on - though when I think back over what it was, I can't think of much.

I think these pictures were from Saturday.  It had been so nice and the boys wanted to sled but about one run down the hill was enough.  It turned cold and has been very windy.

The ten year old thinks it's a good idea to "snowboard" by standing up on his sled.

That's about how I expected it would all end.

The moon has sure been pretty lately.

This little man has really been having a time of it this week.  I found him playing under this table.  He's needed security like that this week.  We've had a lot of major meltdowns over little things too.  Something is really overwhelming him.  He's having a hard time handling ever leaving the house or going somewhere he isn't used to (like out for pie with Bugga, or out to dinner, or even going to preschool.)  These past two weeks it's been a real struggle for him to leave the house at all.

Coloring has been very popular lately with both the five year old and the two year old.

Clearly we're having a problem with understanding where we can and can't write.

He worked very diligently and precisely on this paper for a very long time - maybe close to an hour total.

His marks are small and determined.  He has great fine motor skills.

And I love all the different ways he holds his marker.  Too cute.

We went for another little hike on Saturday and tried out the new frozen yogurt shop in town.  I finally resorted to packing the two year old as he and his five year old brother just wanted to stop and play with snowballs and sticks.  I did get a pretty good walk in though because I would walk ahead, then double back for the boys.

We also saw a moose while we were hiking.  Thankfully he was on the other side of the creek.
