Gone Fishin'

We took the boys fishing today at the kids' fishing pond at our local park.

The two year old caught the first fish.

The ten year old caught the next one, and the five following that.

The five year old had several bites, but we missed them all.  It was raining off and on, which seemed perfect weather for fishing.  The kids would barely cast their lines out and the fish would be biting before they could even sit down.

The two year old picked some lovely flowers :)

And he held onto them even while playing at the park.

The kids also enjoyed a couple games.

And our daughter who has just made it home from college helped the five year old make cookies.

He stood on a chair and helped her with the whole process.  He was very into the measuring and pouring, and cracked the eggs like a pro.

Scooping the dough was a little dangerous at first though :)

After that, she and the two year old made some special allergy-free cookies for him.

The five year old asked the two year old if he wanted a ride on his horse.  It was pretty cute.  They wandered all around the living room like that.

The weather and scenery was beautiful.  No rainbows today, but the shadows and sun put on a nice performance.  We grilled the fish and had a nice dinner, and a relaxing conversation afterwords.  A perfect end to the day.
